Brixton Advice Centre is a dynamic, independent advice centre based in London. We provide specialist services in Housing, Welfare Benefits and Debt. We hold The Law Society’s Lexcel Excellence in Legal Practice Management standard. We also provide a range of other generalist, outreach and project services

What we are looking for

We are seeking a full-time specialist Debt Adviser to provide casework services to our client groups from our main site on Railton Road, Brixton. You will join our friendly and hard-working team to ensure the ongoing successful delivery of our specialist services. The post is funded through Debt Free London (formerly Capitalise), a London-wide partnership of organisations that provide free debt advice to Londoners who are experiencing or at risk of financial exclusion and debt

What you can expect

You will join a small, friendly and supportive team of staff and volunteers dedicated to providing high-quality advice services to people who live or work in Lambeth, London. You will receive remuneration within the range of £28,000 to £31,256 per year dependent on experience and performance. The post attracts 25 days annual leave in addition to Bank and Public Holidays and an occupational pension

About you

You are a driven and enthusiastic adviser with experience of a broad range of advice strategies that can be used to get the best results for your clients. Ideally, you will hold DRO Approved Intermediary status but, if not, must be prepared to undertake the relevant training
