BAC is leading a collaborative rolling survey to capture how the cost of living increases are affecting people living, working and studying in Lambeth
We are doing it so we can better understand the particular issues you and our community are facing, campaign for change, and better target and develop much needed advice and support services around the borough. We are collaborating with other sector partners such as Centre 70, Age UK Lambeth, Citizens Advice Merton and Lambeth, other local groups and with local media to try to reach as many people as possible and from every walk of life. Please share this page with your friends, family and colleagues and encourage them to take part too
We know times are hard for many right now, and getting harder – we want to make sure we’re playing our part and what you tell us here can help us do that

We have not set an end date because we will be analysing responses on an ongoing basis
As well as being able to complete it online, we will be completing it over the telephone and face-to-face with anyone who might otherwise not be able to access it
Is it anonymous?
Yes! We do not want to know your name or address and we have no way of knowing who you are once you have completed it. If anyone does include any of their personal details in any of the text boxes we will delete those details entirely and we will not store a copy
The demographic questions are not specific enough to identify any one individual and the only people who will see any individual response are staff of Brixton Advice Centre in any case and we are bound by a strict duty of confidentiality
What kind of things are we asking?
The questions are about how you are experiencing cost of living increases and are mainly multiple choice but there is space for you to provide further information if you wish. We anticipate that the additional information provided is likely to be very powerful given it will be evidence of the issues that real people are experiencing in the borough right now, in their own words
We are also asking for some basic demographic data such as age group, whether you are in work or not, whether you have any health conditions. This is so we can consider whether particular groups are experiencing issues in different ways, which can help us decide how to target services around the borough
What will we do with the data we collect?
- use it to think about how we might change our current services or design new ones that could more useful to people in Lambeth
- produce reports showing summaries of what people are most concerned about along with analysis and insights we are able to take from the responses
- share these fully anonymous reports with other charities and stakeholders in Lambeth in order to inform discussions on responding to the cost of living increases and to help them think about how they can improve things for you too
- where we think new services or initiatives or changes to existing ones are necessary to help you manage the increasing cost of living, we will use the data to demonstrate this to funders and decision-makers, explaining why it is important they help us or others to tackle it
What if you have any questions about the survey?
If you have any questions about the survey, or suggestions how we can improve it, you can send us a message here
