Our Lawyers
The Online Legal Clinic would not be possible without the commitment and dedication of our legal team, lawyers volunteering their time to provide essential legal services to people in need who would otherwise be without access to justice
Brixton Advice Centre is extremely grateful for their contribution. The current team is:
- Annie Wogel, Solicitor at BDB Pitmans
- Charlie Ryan, Solicitor with Royal Mail Group Ltd
- Chris Aigbokhan, Solicitor at Chris & Co Solicitors
- Chris Stanley, in house Solicitor at Western Digital Corporation
- Dr Christina Lienen, Pupil Barrister at Cornerstone Barristers
- Daniel Flynn, Solicitor at Garner & Hancock Solicitors
- Gabrielle O’Connor, Solicitor with Grazing Hill Law Partners
- Laura Stephenson, Barrister at 2 Hare Court Chambers
- Madeleine Jones, Solicitor
- Sonia Jain, Solicitor
- Tom Coates, Solicitor
- Tom Rhodes, Solicitor with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP
The Online Legal Clinic is coordinated by Harriet Thomas, Solicitor
The Centre is also grateful to Amy Milonas (Solicitor) and Rona Neathey (Barrister) who advise at our evening face-to-face sessions
Join the team
If you are interested in offering services pro bono please complete this form. We are particularly keen to hear from solicitors with Housing, Employment or Family Law experience
In order to manage expectations, please be aware that we ask a minimum three-hour contribution each month, though many of the team provide much more than this. This is equivalent to the time you would spend if you were volunteering at one of our face-to-face advice sessions. It is comfortably enough time to deal with one or two Clinic enquiries each month and join the rest of the team in the occasional online meet-up. Given the Clinic is an entirely remote service, you can contribute from any location you like, at whatever time of day, and on any day of the week
The future
The Online Legal Clinic is, we believe, the first of its kind in the UK, providing pro bono legal advice services directly to the public but under a coordinated online model. We are grateful to the Walcot Foundation and London Funders for funding an initial three-month’s development work and Trust for London a further six months under the London Community Response Fund
