An important new service for Lambeth funded by Trust for London

What we can do

We can provide comprehensive legal advice on issues related to your private tenancy. We may also be able to provide advocacy on your behalf in court in certain circumstances. Please fill in the form at the link below to access our service

Please note, this service is very popular and we only have a small team so it can take us up to 14 days for us to be able to respond. If your matter is more urgent than that you may instead choose to ring our advice line and we may be able to direct you to an alternative form of help: https://brixtonadvice.org.uk/for-advice/

While there is no charge for the advice and assistance we provide, we cannot pay disbursements or court fees on your behalf. If resolving your case is likely to incur costs e.g. a court fee we will advise you about this as part of your case

This service is open to anyone who is renting privately in Lambeth. This includes whether you are having issues with an Assured Shorthold Tenancy, are a lodger or a licensee or are a protected tenant

What we can’t do

This service is funded to provide advice to individual tenants in the private rented sector only. We are unfortunately not able to assist the following under this particular funding:

  • landlords
  • leaseholders
  • mortgage holders
  • persons with shared-ownership (part-rent part-buy) agreements
  • business/commercial property disputes
  • council or housing association tenants
  • anyone living outside Lambeth

If you fall into one of these groups and you need advice then you are welcome to contact us here and we will do our best to help you or direct you to someone better placed to assist
